Win A Foodie’s Dream Camera: Sony Cybershot WX9

23 Jun

I have already written quite extensively about my love affair with the Sony Cybershot WX9. Yup, that is actually my camera looking ever so sexy propped on my sheets. The fine folks at Sony Electronics are allowing you a chance to get nice and intimate with a camera all your own.

This is a camera with a gourmet food setting, a soft skin setting that can do more for your skin than any chemical peel or expensive makeup, and a 3D panorama sweep for the money shot.

The term “food porn” is as overused as the grotto in the Playboy Mansion. Side Note: I’m so sorry Hef, how dare your fiancé have an affair with Dr. Phil’s son and call off the wedding. However, this site is called Mission Fruition and there’s nothing in the world that I love more than when a bite, a description, or a photo of food can stimulate every ounce of your being.

That’s it, all you have to do to win this phenomenal camera is bring me to fruition with the best food porn entry.

You must post a comment with any of these three things:

  • A link to the sexiest food picture that you know of (you don’t have to have taken it)
  • Write a sultry description of what food you most want to photograph and describe why
  • Describe the most luscious bite of your life
It is not mandatory but you should also be following me and Sony Electronics on Twitter. I will choose a winner next Wednesday, June 29th, at 11:59 p.m.

Nothing beats this savory, spicy, delicious appetizer – Rattle Snake Eggs:

I made these for a party once and they were devoured in seconds. So YUM!

    Hey Carina,

As I am a Queen of Food Porn, here’s my sexy potato shot…

    Santa Fe

Remind of you of anything you’ve seen, perhaps on Valencia?

A sip of wine, fruit lingering. The first bite was smooth, creamy decadence. Savory whispers on my palate. Flavors reminiscent of angel kisses and sunlight. Foie gras.

Cotton Candy. Mmmmm. I shot this photo for a photography assignment:

I want to photograph, as simple as this seems, popcorn as it’s popping. It’s like watching the creation of life. Sexy.

The most luscious bite of my life was a funnel cake from the fair. I’m reading over this entry and it sounds like I just came back from the carnival. C’est la vie.

I can really use a serving of this right about now to beat the summertime heat. 🙂 (RT of a twitter link from FoodPorn)

Fudge Brownies, Warm from the Oven w/ a Big Scoop of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream:

I would photograph UNI — sea urchin! The intense color of hyperreal butterscotch pudding with the texture of outer space (or something manufactured by Nickelodeon™); it’s delicate, it glistens, and it comes in “tongues”… how sexy is that?

Sticky lemon rolls with lemon cream cheese glaze

Just looking at this picture again makes my mouth water in desire! I can almost taste the lemony-sweetness of the rolls.

I want to photograph Italian and desert dishes. Italian food is my absolute favorite, it would be a pleasure to take a picture of my creations in the quality they deserve. Oh how mouthwatering they will be.

The most luscious bite of my life is surprisingly, to me, not Italian food based, it was when we had tried a new recipe of chocolate chip cookies (classic). The gentle way the warm chocolate chip cookie melted into my mouth on that first bite, there was nothing like it!

The fresh, crisp doughiness of the first whiff of the foccaccia bread hinted that I was in a treat well before I lifted the panini to my mouth. However, that luscious bite did me in: a homemade pesto spread, with a buttery smoothness that allowed strong garlic notes and pesto to coat my tongue, sundried tomatoes that were bitter and earthy, buffalo mozzarella that melted in my mouth, and a spicy salami with just the right amount of bite. It was the foodgasm to end all foodgasms from an unassuming panini shoppe in Florence, Italy, and the one I’ll be chasing for the rest of my life.

The weight of August in North Carolina fell heavy on my body; the departure from New York, home for nine years, fell heavier on my heart.

I lifted the almost weightless sphere to my mouth and pressed it gently against my tongue, the warm, thick coat of glaze melting at its touch. I let my teeth sink into the airy dough and felt a rush of bliss as the sweet fluffy goodness dissolved into my taste buds and rushed down to my toes. I hadn’t swallowed the first bite before bringing it back up to my mouth, eyes closed, face towards the sun. I finally understood.

Reaching back into the box for my second-ever Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Donut, a small smile found its way onto my face. I missed New York, yes. But maybe this place wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Thanks so much to everyone that entered! The camera is now safely in the hands of the winner Stephanie. She hit my soft spot: uni. Although that popcorn comment is damn hot.
